When custom made and properly fitted by Red Carpet Dressmaking, your clothing will make heads turn. My Custom Design Services are just what you need to show the world the essence of your personal style.

Custom Design also known as Made to Measure is when a garment or outfit is made to your design, specifications and fabric choices. Red Carpet Dressmaking is here to help make your idea become a 3D reality.
The process starts with a design consultation. This is where I will draw out what your idea is and make it workable. There might be aspects of a garment or picture you want to use but make it more your own.
Measurements will be taken at this time and if fabric has not been purchased already, I will guide you on what to get and how much you will need.

This is a real life example of a client. She was wanting a two piece outfit to wear to a wedding as a guest.

This type of drawing is always the starting the point of any Custom Design Work. This is so we both know visually what the garment/s are to look like as a starting point.
The next stage is calico mock ups. This is where your design has been pattern drafted and made up in calico (or another similar fabric to the final fabric to be used) to test the design. This is the time when any changes can happen and be adjusted before using the real fabric.

This is the client in her calico mock up that will become her final outfit.

At this stage the calico mock up has the ability to make changes and in some cases drawn on. It is never meant to be the final garment when it comes to the finishing. This is apart of the Custom Design Process.

The changes that were made were making the neckline fit the client better and lengthening the top to be the right length for her.

This stage is appreciated when the final product fabrics are in short supply as not all changes to garments can be adapted at the final stage.
The final part of the process is making the design in the real fabric. This is when the only fitting that would be needed is marking hems or slight adjustments due to the fabric. From doing the calico mock up stage this greatly helps with the finishings of the final product.

With this stage it is to check that the fit of the garment with the final product fabric. And to mark the hem or other finishing details of the garment.
